Nancy O'Dell began her broadcast career as an anchor and reporter on WPDE-TV in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. She later became a morning news anchor as well as crime reporter for WCBD TV. Her reporting of the ineffective response of the police in response to DUI cases in Charleston resulted in an investigation conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, that led to a revised directive from state authorities regarding DUI cases. In the year 2000, Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell with the Best Report of the year Award to all South Carolina media. O'Dell later worked at NBC's Miami-based station WTVJ-TV as an investigative journalist prior to joining Access Hollywood in the role of weekend co-anchor. In addition to her current work as a lead anchor on Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell is also a contributor to NBC News' Today and in addition to Dateline NBC. She's reported on major events like The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys The Golden Globe Awards, as well co-hosting Pre ShowArrivals Programs during The Emmys. She has also hosted the Miss USA Pageant and Miss Universe.
